Suggested Course Sequence: BCS/Bioinformatics | SCS | UW

[Please remove <h1>]

The order in which you take these courses depends on your first CS course. The following chart shows the recommended progression.

Note: The suggested sequences for 2006/2007 reflect updates that you may find useful as well. As 2A can be a difficult term for CS students, we now suggest only 3 core courses in 2A. Therefore, students that started in 2005/2006 may want to follow the updated 2006/2007 sequences.

Notes:
[1] CS 125 and 133 are followed by CS 134. CS 135 is followed by CS 136.
[2] CHEM 237/233 is a recommended elective (and is a recommended prerequisite for BIO 331)
[3] During the fourth year of study, students may select their courses to complete either a BCS(Bioinformatics), a BSc(Bioinformatics), or a BSc(Biology and Bioinformatics). Please see the current calendar for BSc requirements and the calendar or here for BCS requirements.
[4] CS 350 is not required for the BSc(Biology and Bioinformatics) plan.
[5] Chem 233/237 is waived as a pre-requisite for Biol 331 for BCS/Bioinfo students. However, it is strongly recommended (though not required) that BCS students take Chem 233/237 before or while taking Biol 331. Chem 233/237 is required for both BSc plans.
