This page is designed for non-CS students who are interested in either a few CS courses or a CS minor. Complete information on our plans and offerings can be found elsewhere in our website.
The choice of a first course depends on your background and interests; detailed information on the options can be found here; although the Undergraduate Calendar has brief descriptions of all courses, we recommend you read the more detailed descriptions accessible below. For your convenience, we have provided prerequisite charts for CS courses.
CS offers courses specialized for majors and non-majors, although some exceptions exist; please see our page on general information about courses for more details. If you are unable to use Quest for enrollment, please use the CS waiting list.
In addition, you can query our database of all Computer Science courses, or view a shorter list of courses for Mathematics non-Computer Science majors or non-Computer Science majors in other faculties, that are offered during the upcoming year.
Each checklist indicates plan requirements in a checklist format for easy use; in the case of any discrepancy, the Undergraduate Calendar (including descriptions of minors for Math Faculty students and out-of-Faculty minors) is always the final authority.
For the "Required Courses" section, each course can be used to fulfill at most one requirement.
The first column indicates the year of the Undergraduate Calendar from which the checklists were derived. Each of the following checklists is consistent with renaming of courses and retroactive changes as of the 2005/2006 calendar.
