The omupdate command allows you to select an update package to update your system's BIOS, firmware, and RAID controller drivers remotely.

omupdate Command Summary

NOTE: Although this section lists all possible omupdate commands, the commands available on your system depend on your system configuration. If you try to get help or execute a command for a component or package that is not installed on your system, Server Administrator issues a message that the component is not "found on this system."

Table 6-1 is a high-level summary of the omupdate command. The column titled "Command level 2" lists the major arguments that can be used with omupdate. One name=value pair is needed for some commands to execute. The name=value pair contains what are often called parameters of a command. "User privilege required" refers to the type of privilege you need to perform the command, where U=User, P=Power User, and A=Administrator. "Use" is a very general statement about the actions that can be performed using the omupdate command. More details about syntax and use of the command appear later in this section.

NOTE: Whenever you have a fully qualified path or filename that contains spaces, you must place double quotation marks around the string. For example, if your update package is located at c:\update files\bios\bios.zip, you must place the fully qualified path in double quotations because there is a space between "update" and "files." The following is an example command using this path=file string:

omupdate biosupdate path="c:\update files\bios\bios.zip"
