Legato Networker - Windows Install

Notes

There are two things you to concern yourself with in order to get the Legato Networker Client working properly on Windows XP.

1. The user part of the Networker client needs to be told *at the command line* what backup server it should point to. If you follow the instructions IST wrote, replacing "hoover" with "backup.cs.uwaterloo.ca", you should be OK:

2. You either need to disable IPF (the firewall) or install SP2 and make an exception in the Windows Firewall config. Instructions for XP SP2 may be found here:

For a standalone workstation, I went to the "Manually Configure the Firewall on Each Client" section to get things working.
