I took Master course in Informatics Department of School of Mathematical Sciences of Peking University, CHINA, under the supervision of Prof.Zhang, Naixiao from September 2003 to July 2006, and received M.Sc degree in Applied Mathematics in 2006.
I was taking PhD course in the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science of Faculty of Mathematics of University of Waterloo, CANADA. I had been in WATFORM group under the supervision of Dr.Trefler, Richard, and then changed to Algorithm & Complexity group under the supervision of Prof.Shallit, Jeffrey O.. My research interest is a generalized form of the Frobenius problem and any interesting problems in formal language theory.
I just won the Cheriton Scholarship starting from September 2008. Thank you all my colleagues for your support!

I successfully defended my thesis ``The Frobenius Problem in a Free Monoid'' on August 12, 2009. I would like to thank my supervisor Prof. Jeffrey O. Shallit and examining committe members, Prof. Richard Cleve, Prof. Ming Li, Prof. Kai T. Salomaa, and Prof. Edlyn Teske, for their time in reading my thesis and providing comments. After years of effort, I was conferred Doctor of Philosophy degree at the fall convocation of University of Waterloo on October 24, 2009. Compare the photo of my convocation (at the top) with the one (at the right) I took three years ago when I arrived waterloo. |
