Post-Doc

I was a postdoctral fellow at Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia from March to November 2011 to be an organizer of NTCIR Cross-Link Track for 2011.

PhD

I was supervised by Charlie Clarke. I worked on information retrieval, broadly passage retrieval that includes XML retrieval, or anything that makes our life easier and fun : )

INEX 2009: I participated in Ad Hoc(Focused), Book(Focused), Entity, and Link-the-Wiki tracks. The official results showed that I ranked #1 again in Ad Hoc/Focused task.

INEX 2008: I participated in INEX 2008 Adhoc, Link-the-Wiki, and Book tracks. The results show that I ranked #1 in all of Adhoc tasks; focused, relevant-in-context, and best-in-context tasks, as well as in the Book track, Page-in-Context task! In the Link-the-Wiki track, the results of our algorithm from INEX2007 were adopted by others to show superior performance over other methods.

INEX 2007: I participated in INEX2007 adhoc and Link-the-Wiki tracks, and ranked the third for focused and best-entry-point tasks in adhoc track, and had an overall good results (ranking 1st in one, and amongst the tops in others) in Link-the-Wiki tracks. In addition, our revised algorithm for Link-the-Wiki track produced results that consistantly sits on top of all the others in the official results; however, our revised algorithm remains to be unofficial, though it appears in the official publication.

Etc. As an aside, I also work on spam filtering and efficient passage retrieval algorithm.

MMath

I worked on quantum computing at University of Waterloo: [download] and [cited by].
