I am the manager of Research Support for the School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo. Our group is part of the Computer Science Computing Facility (CSCF), which provides support for all of the computing needs for the School of Computer Science.
I report to the CSCF Associate Director, Bill Ince (wcwince). He, in turn, reports to the SCS Director of Infrastructure, Professor Peter Van Beek (vanbeek).
As of January 2009, I have three staff that report to me, with one position currently unfilled: Mike Gore (magore), and Ronaldo Garcia. Each is assigned as a "Point-of-Contact" for faculty and research groups. The full list can be found here.
We also regularly have co-op students or part-time help. Currently (as of January 2009), we have Duncan Goetze (a high-school co-op) and Ryan Goggin (a Conestoga College student and former co-op) working part-time.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph in Psychology and Computer Science. My particular interests are in the areas of Cognitive Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Life. I'm also interested in Human-Computer Interaction, especially voice control of systems and Tablet PCs.
