An Ontological Approach to Data-Mining for Emergency Medicine

ABSTRACT:	
We propose an evidence based personalized decision making
AI system, targeted for time and knowledge constrained 
environments such as emergency medical situations.  We 
utilize semantic knowledge representation and reasoning to 
answer user queries.  Our approach facilitates logical 
inference over large amounts of data (based on heterogeneous 
information-sets from appropriate data-sources), providing 
answers to queries such as "can I administer a drug xxx to 
patient John?". All answers are backed up by verifiable 
logical proofs, making it possible to deduce as to why and 
how the system reached to a particular conclusion.
