Computer science is changing the world in more ways than anybody could have imagined. The fundamental concepts of this young intellectual discipline are reshaping the way we think - the scientist, the banker, and the social worker must all think computer science.
Each fall, we invite grades 8, 9, 10 and 11 students, their families, and teachers to join us CS4U@UWaterloo Day. We'll explore the breadth and depth of computer science, what computers can and can't do, and how computer science is changing everything from entertainment to health care. The activities of the day require no computer science background - every student and teacher is welcome! Attendance is free. Refreshments and pizza lunch will be provided.
CS4U for Fall 2008 happened on November 22, 2008, and was great fun for organizers and participants. We hope you can come next time! To get an idea what we do at CS4U, here's the schedule and speakers for this fall's CS4U:
