Many course materials are available on the course web site. Course notes will be supplied by your IS Coordinator and, unless otherwise specified, are yours to keep.
Text books may be signed out by the staff from the Undergraduate Administrative Co-ordinator in DC 3102. ISAs are responsible for returning these textbooks at the end of the term.
ISAs are given accounts on the undergrad computing environment, student.cs; TAs have accounts on cs. In addition, there are course accounts (e.g. cs241@student.cs) for which mail can be forwarded to the appropriate person.
Many classrooms in the Registrar's inventory include a computer and data projector. All ISAs are given Nexus accounts so that they may use these computers. Note however that a key to the Electronic Classroom podiums must be obtained from Audio Visual.
The School has two lounges:
Shared offices are provided for ISAs and for TAs in the Davis Centre. Offices are equipped with desks, tables, chairs, a telephone, and bookshelves. Some offices have filing cabinets and most have computers or terminals. Keys are available for all locking desks and cabinets, and usually can be found inside the top drawer of each unit.
Please keep student traffic to a minimum in the area of our offices; this is one of the purposes of the Tutorial Centre. This is especially important if people are trying to do marking in the office. Students should not generally be in the office while marking is going on. Please respect the right of your fellow office mates to mark and complete their other work in an environment conducive to that end.
Key control forms for office keys and required lab keys are issued at the beginning of the term and must be returned at the end of the term. ISAs obtain their forms from the ISG Secretary, TAs from the CS Department receptionist. Every ISA and TA must exchange a signed key control form in person for keys at the Key Control Department located in GSC 105C.
At the end of the term, do NOT return keys to Key Control!
There are several photocopying facilities available:
The above copiers should be used only for small quantities. Handouts, exams, quizzes etc. should be left with the ISG Secretary for duplication.
Printing of course-related work should be directed to the printer in DC 3116. Users of PCs should configure their DC3116 printer as follows (failure to do so will result in extra pages being printed, and may halt the printer):
ISAs may require the services of a secretary for typing and duplication of course-related material. Please consult your IS Coordinator first when any secretarial support is needed. The IS Secretary is the secretary for all course-related material for ISG.
Paper, pens, overhead markers, file folders, staples, paper clips, etc. may be obtained at any time from DC 2326. You must list any supplies taken in the Supply Book under "ISG".
Larger or more expensive items (thermal transparencies, staplers, scissors, etc.) should be ordered through the ISG secretary.
