Nine continuing graduate students and five incoming students in the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science are recipients of prestigious Cheriton Scholarships beginning in September 2010. The scholarships come from David Cheriton's donation of $25 million to the School of Computer Science and are reserved for the school’s very top graduate students.
The scholarship winners had to demonstrate strong research ability in an application, endorsed by their supervisor, which outlined their current research, academic record, and curriculum vitae. The awards provide $10,000 annually to the recipients. Most awards will provide funding for two consecutive years.
