Nine current PhD students in the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science are recipients of prestigious Cheriton Scholarships beginning in May 2007. The scholarships come from David Cheriton's donation of $25 million to the School of Computer Science and are reserved for the School’s very top graduate students. Each student had to demonstrate strong research ability in an application that outlined the student's current research, academic record, and curriculum vitae and was endorsed by their supervisor. The award provides $10,000 each year and most of the awards are for two years.
