The School of Computer Science is pleased to announce that Thomas Tran, a PhD student with the Artificial Intelligence Research Group, will receive the Governor General's Gold Medal at the Spring 2004 Convocation on June 19. The gold medal is awarded once a year to a graduate student who demonstrates excellence in both academics and scholarship.
Thomas completed the requirements for his PhD in the Fall term under the supervision of Robin Cohen. His thesis title is "Reputation-Oriented Reinforcement Learning Startegies for Economically-Motivated Agents in Electronic Market Environments". Thomas is currently holding a Postdoctoral fellowship at UW, continuing to work with Robin Cohen. In the fall, he will begin work as a faculty member at SITE, University of Ottawa.
