The School of Computer Science's Symbolic Computation Group (SCG) was a winner of this year's Synergy Award for Innovation. The award was presented at the NSERC Synergy Gala held in Waterloo on October 26.
The national award, given out by Science and Engineering Research Canada (NSERC), recognizes outstanding research and development partnerships between university and industry. The industry partner, Maplesoft Inc., received the award alongside SCG.
The award includes $25,000 to be used to continue the research program of the group. The members of the research group include George Labahn (Director), Keith Geddes, Mark Giesbrecht and Arne Storjohann.
